Hey I just got a new computer and I listen to alot of music and watch movies on it. I just wanted to know what the best sound system under $200 is (I only want 2 speakers and maybe a sub). So far Im leanining towards audioengine A2's but also hear that klipsch promedia 2.1's are suppose to be really nice. I know bose, logitech, altec lansing all make similar products. Anyone have any experience with any of these, currently I have altec lansing 5.1 system, but only 2 speakers work on it and its too many wires. Any advice would be helpful thanks.[*]
Klipsch has been lacking in reliability the past few years. Their speakers sound pretty good, but their computer speaker/sub amps suck. They're also overpriced generally.
Take a look at these. $15 over your budget, but more bang for the buck and 5.1 is nice if you play fps.
Only problem is that I don't have enough space for a 5.1 system, and would like the keep wires to a minimum. Thanks for the advice though. Anyone know any good 2.1 systems?
If you are low on space, you may want to simply get some high quality headphones. This way you can have great sound at any time, without disturbing anyone. If you are willing to spend the money, you may want to look into surround sound headphones, here is an example:

For 2.1 I recommend creative i-trigue speakers (L3800). For desktop use gigaworks 2.0 seems very cool, too, as long as you want to remain within the budget anyway. This article ere might help: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2 [...] speakers/1
