Wanted to know if on board HDMI is any good or if I need a Standalone Video Card for better performance.
I don't plan to game on this PC, Just hook it up to a TV to watch movies.

GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2H AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Brisbane 2.6GHz Socket AM2
G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800

would this sufficient to hook up to say a 37 inch LCDTV and have a good clear picture ect using just the onboard HDMI?

That chipset (780G) was designed (and successfully tested) for HD playback of Blu-Ray movies. It'll be more than enough for just video watching.
