I just got my Seagate 160GB SATA drive today and I was wondering if anyone in here would be able to tell me if I will get any better loading times with it than my current 80GB Caviar drive? I know the Caviar has 8.9 seek and the seagate has 8.5, but to me this doesn't seem like that much of a difference. I was planning on still using both drives just so I know I have plenty of storage for my files.

If the SATA drive is better, should I partition it and setup my windows on it? What Partitions would be best for me to use on this big of a drive? I currently just use the computer for gaming, video and music storage. Should I use the seagate drivers to set it up or just use PartitionMagic 8.0? Thanks in advance.

My brother just told me today that he wants my 80GB drive. is it possible to install Windows on the other drive and then after it's all setup, plug the 80gb back in and pull some of my files off of it? Or would it be best just to burn the stuff onto some DVD's and transfer it that way?

It should work fine to plug the 80gb in later to pull files off. About the worst that could happen is that windows sees 2 xp installs in the boot manager and leaves that other xp install selection there even after the drive is removed. You can remove that selection later if that happens.
If it does see both drives in the boot manager make sure you choose the right one :)
