N64 and my lightware projector not working right

The problem is with an n64 and a lightware vp800 lcd projector. When i plug in the rca cables from the n64 to a tv it works. I then plug it in the projector and i hear the audio but on the screen it just shows like a frozen frame of like the intro to mario kart or whatever game i put in meanwhile the audio plays. I ordered an s-cable on ebay 6 bucks for the 64 and plugged it in to the projector and it does the same exact thing. The thing is My ps2, which uses the same rca connection works great on the projector its AWEWSOME!!! but the whole reason i bought the thing was for mario kart so im kinda bumming. The only thing i could think of is possibly the fact that my 64 doesnt have the expansion pack (little black and red thing that came out later on that u switch out with the stock one) but i just dont see why that would matter. Ive searched the web for answers but couldnt find anything im hoping someone will know whats going on here. Thanks!
