I looking to upgrade an 80GB IDE (7200rpm) Western Digital HD. I am looking at a 160GB Serial ATA drive (7200rpm) for Seagate. Would I get any performence problems having my OS on the 80GB IDE and the data storage on te 160Gb or vice versa? I am better office going all Serial ATA?

I doubt there would be any performance improvement at all. That 80gb is probably a special edition right? That is a fast drive, keep it as your os disk.

Nope, no performance problems.

I'm actually doing the same upgrade as you. Listen to Crash and Folken, they know what they're talking about.
