  1. I'm not sure if I understand your question. Is your cable box near your computer?

If it isnt you will have to run a cable to your computer.

Fantastic choice on the card, dual hardware video encoders!

  2. If I were to put the cable though the ceiling it wouldn’t be that fare but my real question is how do I connect it to the card and how do I get another line to run to the computer and how would that work would whatever is on one screen have to be on them both???
  3. The card has a video input. Very easy to connect. If it is the same room you can video out to your TV(or run a cable to another room). You need to describe your setup better for me to advise. The card you are looking at can view one channel and record a second program at the same time.

  4. My question is how do I get the second Cable line for the computer, do I have to buy something from the Cable Company, or do I need to get something that will split the Cable line and give me two Cable lines and if so what is it called also does this make I so I can watch one channel on the computer well someone else is watching a deferent channel on the TV???
  5. Yes just get a regular splitter
I know ati's tv tuners do that
Up to 125 channels i would guess hauppage would do so too
But u wold need two spliiters

1 splitting the cable thats going to your cable box and the second splitting that singnal into 2 so u can use your dual tv tuner functions

  13. I just bought the WinTV-Go Plus. For fifty bucks it's a good deal. One question tho, our cable box is in another room and the default remote control cord will not reach there in terms of length. Is there a way to buy another one of these seperately. Need something in the range of 20 to 25 feet.

I looked at the hauppage website but nothing listed. Emailed the sales staff last week but have yet to hear anything from them.

    Any suggestions?, Thanks
  14. Just go to Radio Shack and tell them what you are doing and they will hook you up. Be sure to measure approximately how much cable you need.
I am assuming that you live in an area that has radio shack as your bio is rather lacking in personnel information.
This is why it's important to give at least some information when signing up to post.

  15. Just get the cable company to do it for you. If you have a line on your computer, have the cable company come by to attach a spliter (They have very good spliters), then ask them to cut you two lines. One to your cable model, the other to your video card.

You just need to find a reason for them to come without charging you.
  16. I already have the splitter setup and running the 2nd line off that splitter to my computer. The need to get the longer remote control cord is so that I can change channels on my computer without having to run to the cable box to do so.

Gonna stop by Radioshack. Thanks guys
