I've got an interesting predicament. I've got an EVGA 680i SLI A1 board which has both analog surround outputs plus a toslink output.....Ok heres the situation. I've got the razer piranha headset for online multiplayer. It uses the standard 3.5mm headphone and microphone jacks so i get all the sound from my pc and the audio from friends voice through the headset. the problem is the game noise interferes with hearing peoples voices, yet i don't want the game music totally off or too low. I thought a good solution would be to have all other audio besides voice chat come out of the pc speakers and just hear friends voice through the headset. The problem is they are both coming from the same analog port so i can't seperate the two. Either i get all audio through speakers or all through headset when headset is plugged in. Is there anyway to get all audio through speakers but get voice chat audio through the headset??
My other question is, woud it be an option to get a sound system that uses the optical output of the board and then use the analog for the headset?? Can the board use both sets of audio connections seperately or can you only use one of them at a time??
Bottom line is I want all audio except the voice chat audio to come through speakers and just voice chat audio through headphones at the same time. I don't care how it is accomplished, i just need it to be that way
