Hybrid Camcorders

How come there is no strait answer to the question (what is a hybrid camcorder)? To the person who thought or asked if it was a ccamcorder/video (first of all why is it called a camcorder?) camera that also took still photos that is just rediculus, definitly not correct. Now as I cannot seem to find an answer to the question here or anywhere else on the net for that matter, from the little I have found out I believe that it is a camcorder that records to either or both (of course not at the same time) built in memory and and optional memory card. This as opposed to only being able to record to a memory card (ie. there is no built in aka onboard memory).
