In general you connect the line out of your player to the line in of the sound capture device (checking they are compatible and closely matched) and use suitable recording/ripping software to capture the audio stream to a file; I have used Audacity in the past for recording from old magnetic tape, the fine details depend on what equipment you have, what OS you are using and what you want to achieve.

Your record player will need to go through your amp then line out from the amp to the sound card. This is most likely going to be from the headphone socket, just turn the volume down or you risk overloading the input and badly distorting things.
