Hi,

im looking into a new i7 build, just wondering which if any is the best
thermal paste to use and since this is my first build how do you apply it correctly
im currently looking at smearing some OCZ Freeze Extreme Thermal Conductivity Compound

Any pointers?

I've read very good things about the i7. Good choice!

The processors heat sink will come with a thermal pad already on it. Just make sure it is evenly aligned on the processor before you clamp it down. It is not adviseable to mix thermal compounds.

Thermal paste is normally needed when the heatsink and fan are removed from the processor, cleaned then re-applied.
