I Want HIGH Resolution!

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knows of a laptop with higher than WUXGA (1920x1200) resolution? I do not want to go bigger than a 17" screen though.

1920x1200 is the highest laptops are equipped with I believe. At the very least, I have never seen a laptop with a higher res than that. They make 18.4'' laptops, but I believe they are still limited to 19x12.

Agreed. I've never seen over 1200p on a notebook. Think about it for a second - minimum screen size for a normal monitor running 1920x1200 is 24"...notebooks have that many pixels shrunk down to 17". 1600p desktop screens run 30" or more! Assuming the same ratio exists between the desktop screen size and notebook screen size, a 1600p screen on a notebook would be around 21.5"! That's...not really a notebook.

It's worth noting that the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 2 Pro and Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus are not true 3200x1800 though. The Samsung PLS panels in these laptops make use of the RGBW-Pentile sub-pixel arrangement which, to be frank, is more-or-less of a tool for resolution advertising scam than anything else. Instead of each pixel consisting of all three of the expected independently-variable red, green, and blue stripes, each purported "pixel" has a pair of either red & green, or blue & white stripes. This results in 1600x900 being the lowest "true resolution" in which each square grid cell is actually capable of independently representing the full spectrum.

To add to the running list though, the Dell XPS 15 is $1830 with a 15.6" 3200x1800 display
