Many people recommend Asus, but I found a very cheap computer with good hardware and a Gigabyte motherboard.
So, do they make good product, or do you often have problems with their cards?
Is it easy to get support and find BIOS updates?
Is the G31M-S2L for a PC with a Core 2 Quad Q9300, 4gb of RAM, and a 8800GT ?

Thanks

Why won't you try to download files from Gigabytes site and see for yourself if it easy to get support.

Try the same thing with Asus.

Other recommended Asus already so are you looking for objective support?

Please don't take this the wrong way but I think it's pretty obvious to me, the question is do you trust the people recommending product A or product B?

Both manufacturers are good company. Some might prefer X over Y and vice versa.
