i got a 4.1 creative inspire sound system and ive hooked up the rear speakers to the corners of my room. the woofer and the front 2 speakers are next to my monitor on either side. im no audio expert but ill try explaining my problem.

every speaker worker really well. the front 2 speakers produce the "MAIN" sound, where as the back speakers produce a 'SECONDARY' type sound. for example, when im listening to a song, the singing is from the front 2 speakers and the other sound effects come from the rear.... i guess thats how surround works right. the thing is that the rear speakers dont produce enough of the sound, i mean it does not give a good effect. so i switched the ports... i.e. the rear ones produced the front speakers and vice versa. the rear speakers are now the front ones and the effect is really good.

what i wanna know, if its possible to make the exact same sound come from both front and rear speakers? that would make it sound better? if possible, what software to get, the default realtek software cant do this.

i hope i sound clear, not familiar with technical sound terms. thanks

Surround sound is basically a delayed process (better processing than normal delay) produce from the main sound and unless it’s a DISCREET SURROUND SOUND coming from the source, the signal may just be STEREO.

You probably set it up your sound configuration to 5.1 surround and that’s exactly what is doing.
