Alright, so I'm going to a prepschool in a few weeks and it requires you to bring a laptop. I'm an avid gamer so I'm freaking out about being able to play games on it like Crysis or Mass Effect and at the very least Counter Strike (Which I play typically anyways ). My budget is in the $1500 range but I'll go up to $2000 if it's needed. I really don't care about size, weight, etc. Right now all I have for ideas is the Alienware M17 for $1850 :
•Dual 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 4850 - CrossFireX™
•Intel® Core™2 T9600 2.8GHz (6MB Cache, 1066MHz FSB)
•3GB Dual Channel DDR3 SO-DIMM at 1066MHz – 1 x 2048MB + 1 x 1024MB
the Toshiba Qosmio X305-Q706 for $1900 (Which Tohshiba removed from their site for some reason so I don't know if it's still out)
• 1GB SLI GeForce 9800M GTS video cards
• 4GB of 1066 MHz RAM
• 2.26GHz P8400
and the Dell Studio 16 XPS at $1500 which i would take if i works
• Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T9550 (6MB cache/2.66GHz/1066Mhz FSB)
• ATI Mobility RADEON™ HD 4670 – 1GB
• 6GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1067MHz (2 Dimms)
But like I said I'm absolutely clueless and would greatly appreciate any advice or tips !

2) The Toshiba is probably going to be updated which is probably why it's been taken off the site. The 9800M GTS' are being phased out and replaced with the GT 200's and such.
3) Performance wise the Alienware is the best of that group. Though, I can't really say I'm a fan of the company.......
Have you looked at anything that Sager offers? Look at either Sagernotebook.com or XoticPC.com
As I said I would perfer something under $1700, around $1500. Crysis, Mass Effect and Counter Strike. (In the second and third sentence (<.< )) Lost wandering thanks I feel the same way to, I hate Alienware as well (never got a good vibe from them) but they did seem to have the best offer. I will check out the links though.
