why keyboard doesn't work of tree makerr

trying to work on family tree maker when keyboard won't print anything, still works on regular things on computer?????

Does this software/program have something silly such as 'Keyboard enable'? It may be possible that this particular program wants you to make relationships/associations using the mouse, and therefore the keyboard is disabled.
