Hello everyone, I've been reading these forums for the better part of 6 months and this is my first time posting here.

I'm going to be building a new computer soon, and I would like to ask a few questions concerning monitors before I select one.

So.. to get straight to the point... I'll be using this monitor to do the following:
1) Playing PC games at 1900x1200 resolution.
2) Watching videos.
3) Playing console games (PS3 and Xbox 360)
4) Engineering design (Solid Works, CATIA, etc.)
5) Web surfing, school work.

Since I would like 1080p (1900x1200) resolution, I was looking at these two monitors in particular:
1) Westinghouse L2410NM Glossy Black 24" http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6824255001
2) SAMSUNG 245BW Black High Glossy 24" http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6824001234

I've read reviews and these two monitors have all had great ones.

Now, here is where my confusion lies. The PS3 I would like to hook up uses HDMI cables to transmit 1080p signal. Now, looking at the two monitors' specs, only the Westinghouse has HDMI inputs, which would make this the clear choice. However, I live in Canada and it seems to be hard to buy Westinghouse monitors and have them shipped up here. Also, the Westinghouse doesn't have DVI input, which makes me wonder if I'll be able to connect it to my PC to use it as a monitor.

Looking at the Samsung, it has DVI so I know I can use it as a monitor for sure. However, it doesn't have HDMI, so I'm not sure I would be able to connect the PS3 to it with a connection that supports 1080p.

If anyone could advise me in this situation it would be most appreciated. To be clear after that long post (lol), I'm wondering which one I should buy for the needs I listed above.

Thanks,
J.R.
