I just recently returned a laptop purchase because I hated the keyboard on it and the speed wasn't that great on Vista. It featured a Turion rm72 processor with 3 gb's of ram and a hd3200.
Now, I'm looking into purchasing a Lenovo Thinkpad off of ebay, specifically the t61 which features the t7300 processor, 2 gb's ram, 7200rpm hdd.
The t7300 is clocked similar to the Turion RM 72 at around @2.0ghz. However, the t7300 seems to have it beat thanks to its 4mb of level 2 cache. In terms of real world performance, would the thinkpad run a lot smoother when running aps/browsing web?
I don't plan on gaming or doing graphics intensive tasks so the hd3200 vs x3100 doesn't seem that relevant but I'm not sure. Mainly, I just want a smooth/quick boot up and seamless browsing/MS office/itunes experience.
Here's a link to the thinkpad I'm watching right now. Also, can anyone give me advice on how much this thing might actually be worth? I was going to wager somewhere in the 350-450 range but it's sorta getting old now so I'm not too sure.
I second the motion.... based on the passmark CPU benchmarks... both CPUs has a benchmark between 1,060 -1,100 points. What i hate about intel is that their codes is really very misleading....
The T4200 processor is actually faster than the T7300 while the T4300 is a lot slower than both the T4200 and the T7300... I really hope Intel makes a good chart on ratings for the public to see....
