Hello all, this is my first post at this helpful website. So I don't know if

Anyways, I currently own a Dell Dimension E521 {3GB Ram, 9800GT VGA, 500 OCZ PSU, AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800 w/ Vista Basic 32-bit}

I figure the most powerful mods I can make to my computer are:

Processor - AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ < Thats what I heard at another forum, and the 6000 is also 89W & Socket AM2. I was hoping to get one of the newer 'Phenom' AMD processors (tri-processors I think[?; But, since my computer is somewhat older, I doubt my motherboard would allow it.

Video Card- The XFX 9800GT is about as high as I can go. I have a mid-tower case I think and all the new powerful cards are to big to fit. Hell, the one in there now just barely fit. So unless they come out with some low profile cards in the future that are more powerful - this'll be the last VGA I buy.

PSU- OCZ StealthXStream OCZ500SXS 500W ATX12V

Sound Card - I haven't found a soundcard yet that will work with vista. I've tried all the audigy excluding the basic one. Even the audigy 4, which I though was soooooooo cool and I was so disappointed when the drivers wouldn't take. I also havent tried any of the X-Fi either - but I'm not paying $80-$125 for a slight difference. I've already got a 5.1 Logitech sound system so I think I'm set there. >Unless anyone has any suggestions...

I apologize for going on and on, but basically heres my basic question: What is the best AMD processor for my Dell set up???

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.
