Desktop icons

some of the icons from my desktop are not responding after two clicks also.

Which program are you trying to launch via the icon?

Is it just one icon or all icon (desktop freeze). ?

make sure the shortcut path to the app is correct.
u can check it by right click properties -> shortcut -> target

most of the icons are not opening, execept some like mycomputer, mydocument, recyclebin, and some applications. Icons for the applications, excel files and jpeg files are not opening and some times system is creating duplicate of this icons and that is opening. I am using windows 7 OS, here after right click properties option is not showing.

Try run malware / virus scan... it sound like infection..

u can try using rescue disk from antivirus software.........

I am already using AVG Internet security. But after scan it is showing no threats found.

Try running malwarebytes and see if it turns up anything. Run it a second time in safe mode just to be sure.

Maybe the apps are already deleted and the icons are still on the desktop. That's happened to me before. lol!
