I'm not quite sure what my FSB is, but I am running an Athlon 64 2800+ which operates at 1800 mhz.

my motherboards is an MSI K8M Neo-V, with a VIA K8M800 + 8237 chipset.

my purpose for the RAM is gaming, and 3D modeling, and Photoshop. (I often work with high resolution files in Photoshop and thus need a lot of RAM)

btw, what does the "64" in Athlon 64 describe?

aha, I found a sticky at the CPU forum and it described my Athlon64 2800+ as being a Newcastle (I came to this conclusion since the newcastle is the only type with a PR rating of 2800+. Is my reasoning correct?)

anyway, it describes my Athlon as having an FSB of 800mhz, HT Link, on die DDR400 memory controller.

btw, is there a way of discovering the FSB of my CPU, aside from researching over the internet? Is it displayed in device manager or something?

I just read a THG article on the history of CPUs and sockets...

my motherboard is socket 754

A paragraph stated:

"All CPUs for socket 754 only work with a single DDR400 memory interface."

what is a memory interface? I'm confused hehe. Does this mean I can only use one stick of DDR400 RAM?
