Best P&S for $100

Hey, so my sister wants a cheap point and shoot digital camera for under $100 (or possibly a little more if the gains are worth the extra $$$). I've done a fair amount of searching around on this question, but it seems that most cameras that are being recommended are olderish, and no longer on newegg...

So does it matter if i recommend an older camera to her, or is there a newer camera thats really good that she should be looking at?
