Dear Community
I have been looking for a solution to broadcast a Satellite receiver signal to different locations in my house without being blocked to a TV.
In such context I found 2 devices that supported this requirement and further extended it to broadcast through internet - to specific clients.
One is the Slingbox from SlingMedia and another is Location Free from Sony.
After reading several documentation and comparing prices I ended up buying the Sony Vaio LF-V30, mostly because this device can act also as as wireless router.
The interesting thing is the the documentation for the Sony Vaio does not refer any limitation on the signal system... Hence, a bit naively, bought this device assuming it would work with my digital receiver. To my surprise, after testing it I realized that the Sony Vaio supports NTSC and does not support PAL.
In consequence, I am stuck with something that does not work at all ;-(
I am just wondering if anyone has the experience in this field and can direct me to something that would allow the signal to be converted.
In essence: I have a Digital Receiver which sends a signal through SCART (PAL) to the SONY Vaio Location Free that is expecting to receive a NTSC signal. The SONY Vaio Location Free will then broadcast this signal through wireless to a PC client application.
