.... and I do mean BETA... as in... can't seem to download updates. I've
tried repeatedly to download these updates and tried the workarounds...
and tried the uninstall/re-install. Nada!

Okay... one last-ditch effort before I ditch MS for Counterspy (which is
probably a wiser move anyway). Any ideas?

to a problem regarding updating the spyware that another poster had in
the group to which you just referred me, is exactly why I think it best
to ditch this beta before I find myself in some hot water. I'm not
trying to knock Microsoft. BUT this is a beta program with bugs still
evident and I'm not knowledgeable enough to deal with these sorts of
glitches. I think I'll opt for the finished product (Counter Spy) and
pay the relatively small price for peace of mind. Thanks anyway.
