No Operating System

Hello,
I've been poised with the opportunity to fix a No Operating System error. All factory parts are installed on this HP M S214 beauty and immediately upon boot up it says Operating System Not Found. With a little BIOS magic I came across this error "PXE-E61: Media Test Failure, Check Cable." Any idea's on which cable that would be? My first response (prior to finding that error) was to run the system recovery disks and repartition, to no avail. I'm about to begin taking it apart, but the last time I took it apart with the owner, realistically the only thing you could seem to do is replace the HDD, CD-ROM and RAM.

Also. The computer recognizes both the HDD and the CD drive.

The hard disk may be recognised but it can still be faulty.

Oh and regarding the cable -- most error messages are erroneous.

Alright, thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to check the HDD.

Replaced the HDD and partitioned. Works perfectly. Simple fix. Thanks for the heads up on that erroneous error message ideology.
