The bottom line is a need a new monitor. I have around $260 to spend and was looking at the Samsung 206bw, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] &Tpk=206bw, or the HP w2007, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] Tpk=w2007. I looked at both of these in store and as far as i can tell they look the same picture-wise. While looked good, I had read that the samsung at one time suffered from outsourcing leading to the A, S panel monitor gamble, and the HP's base doesn't look or feel the strongest. Suggestions?
I have the same problem. I was told that if a pixels die on a 20" and over, they won't replace the monitor. There has to be something like 5 pixels in a row. Do you know if that's true? My choices are
I'm deciding on the 20" samsung myself. One difference in those is the response time. The samsungs is 2 ms which is best for gaming. Hmm, appears the samsung isn't energy compliant?
That 206BW is at buy.com for 246 flat, free shipping and after rebate. But I do like dealing with newegg.
Ya, i was looking at the 206bw, but i'm sure you've heard of the whole panel lottery thing. I'm from greece, and chances are i would probably get the worst panels. That's why i'm hesitant in getting the samsung
