How do i tell if a drive has it (when purchasing)?
I've noticed that my OLD OLD 32x CD-ROM in one of my older machines can make an image of a cd VERY fast. It skips through all the errors like nothing and takes minutes to rip it.
However, all 3 of the drives on my newer machine will take hours to rip the same disc. It seems to me that my old drive has fast error skipping and my new ones do not.
So i'd like to get one that does for my main machine, but its impossible to tell which ones have it and which ones don't. i don't want to shell out $25 some dollars for a new DVD-ROM only to find that it's just as capable as my old one...
any thoughts on this?
