My sister has a Phillips 60pp9363h/17 61" HDTV, has sound but no picture, did not give any warning syptoms, just went black but sound still comes out. What could this possibly be?

What is it connected to? It could be a bad input, it could be a bad TV. Is it under warranty? have you tried connecting another video source to the front inputs? Did you check the cable?
