Use a startup disk (preferably a Win98 Startup Disk or the like) and boot to DOS. Partition and format your hard drive via FDISK. Format your partitions via FORMAT. Then pop the operating system's CD in and run the setup program.

Installing an OS is pretty easy. All depends which OS you wanna install will depend on the difficulty. Most common choice is Win 98 or XP. You really dont need a boot disk (just makes it easier for 98), Windows OS CD's are bootable (Go into BIOS and change boot order). If you install XP and boot from the CD it will do it all for you. IF you install 98 you can still boot from the CD (When you boot from the WIN 98 CD you will have the options to start Windows setup from CD ROM, Start computer with CD ROM support and to Start computer without CD ROM support .... choose Start computer with CD ROM support), you will need to go into D:\win98 (figuring D: is CD ROM) to get access to FDISK and SETUP.EXE.

If you install Win 98 good luck on drivers (dont forget CHIPSET)
