I have an old 19or20" CRT monitor (Iiyama VisionMaster Pro450 ) that doesn't seem to turn ON when cold.
I babied this monitor since I bought it ~ year 2000. The past months, I noticed that the monitor refused to go ON when the weather is considered COLD. Sometimes, when I'm lucky, the monitor does go ON and everything is fine. When the monitor has been ON for a while or is WARM, if I turn the monitor off, wait for, say, 10-15 minutes, then turn it back on again, the monitor does go back ON. It's only when the monitor is OFF for a long period of time (overnight), it refuse to work (turn back ON).
Any advice on how I can fix this problem? Has this monitor reached the end of its life? I don't want to give up/throw away this nice monitor. I have been leaving my computer and monitor on 24/7, so to avoid not having a working monitor. My preference is to turn the computer and monitor OFF at night, and a guarantee that my monitor will work in the morning.
ps. I've hooked another OLDER CRT monitor up to my current computer and it works fine (so there is nothing wrong with my video card). Also, I hooked up another OLDER working computer to my Iiyama 450Pro monitor, but the Iiyama monitor still refuse to turn ON. Therefore, it's definitely the Iiyama monitor problem.
Please help. Sorry for the long post.
Another PS. My PowerBox (PSU) in my computer case also exhibit this weird behavior sometimes too (when it's cold).
