Well basically my question is what "good enough" speakers would be able to play Blu-ray and taking advantage of the three new codecs.

Codecs are:
Dolby Digital Plus (DD+) – extension of Dolby Digital, 7.1-channel surround sound.
Dolby TrueHD – lossless encoding of up to 8 channels of audio.
DTS-HD High Resolution Audio – extension of DTS, 7.1-channel surround sound.
DTS-HD Master Audio – lossless encoding of up to 8 channels of audio.

My price range would be around AUD$400~$600($600 is pushing it hehe). I am generally just a PC Gamer and a casual movie enthusiast. I only really know the PC speaker system brands like Altec-Lansing, Creative/Gigaworks and Logitech.

Now if there is no available speakers or none coming soon, what are my alternatives?

Also say I have a Blu-ray capable soundcard, but the speakers are not "Blu-ray certified" for playing the latest HD codecs; will they still be able to play the sound being output by the soundcard exactly? Or will the audio signal degrade because the speakers are not "Blu-ray certified"?

I do intend to buy a Blu-ray capable soundcard, either the ASUS Xonar HDAV1.3 or the Auzentech X-Fi Home Theater 7.1.

I figured I'll do a little research now and buy closer to Christmas time. A little present for myself. :)

Any replies would be greatly appreciated! :D
