Not sure where this should go, it's my first time here. But I've got this extremely wierd computer problem.. (Gotta love them)

I've found no way to fix it or anything else by google. But here's the problem.

I bought an Alienware, custom built, desktop PC. At first, everything seemed to work fine. But one day, I had to take my computer apart because the fan was completely encased in dust and I wanted to clean it. After doing that and putting it all back together, my keyboard and mouse (USB, Keyboard is HP, mouse is Logitech) all of a sudden decide not to come on. I can't press F8 from the get-go to get into the bios either, so I don't beleive my bios is reading the keyboard/mouse.

Note* The wierdest thing is, this has happened TWICE. First, I just kept repeatedly rebooting my computer, and they decided to work. I tried the same method, but to no avail this time.

Any ideas?
PS-If you need specs on my comp or whatnot, this is all I know from not having to start and look.
AMD Phenom QuadCore
nVidia 9250 1gig video card
Runnin windows xp pro, legal version :p .

Another note. The keyboard and mouse work fine on all other comps.
No other keyboard or mouse will work on my comp.

When I plug in my laser mouse into the usb, the laser will quickly flash like it is coming on, but then will go back out. It does this every time. Any other comp, mouse loads and works fine.

Have you tried all usb ports or are you using the front ports? If you are using the front usb ports only you may have accidentally unplugged the cable while in the case.

If that is not the problem you may want to check the manual and see if you can find anything about keyboard and mouse support there (a reset of the cmos may be necessary to resolve the issue)

Try the delete key on startup to access the BIOS. F8 is usually to access the safe mode menu.

I have actually bought a brand new motherboard for the computer, and i still get the exact same problem. Could this be a power supply issue?

Delete key does not access bios.

What is the setup option in the BIOS? F2 is another common key.
