So I have recently upgraded from windows xp to vista home premium 64 bit. Ever since then my sound has been mostly only playing out of 2 speakers, front left and right with a few exceptions. When I use winamp and get a program that allows output on all 5 channels I can hear on all 5 speakers plus sub. and 2. When I put in a dvd it only plays through the center speaker and sub (using windows media player). But when I use VLC player to play a dvd I get it out of 2 speakers (FL, FR)
I tried using the speaker test built in through Counter-strike source and only 2 speakers play for all the tests (FL, FR). But when I test it with windows it plays through all 5 + sub. Counter-strike source can do 5.1 channel. I have no idea what is wrong or why it is doing this so I hope you guys can help me out .
Things I tried: Got 64-bit driver from creative and installed them
