Hi all...
I have a strange issue... it's annoying me now cause... I can't get what I
want/expect and I don't understand why!!!
I have an old PC that I'm rebuilding. I started out with an old 2.2gb hard
drive as C: (jumped to Master); a 10gb as D: (jumped to Slave)... both on
IDE-1.
I then installed a DVD Burner which became E: (jumped as Master)... on
IDE-2.
2-3 weeks back... I pulled the 2.2gb... changed the 10gb to Cable Select...
and installed a 110gb also as Cable Select. And... I changed the cable to
the newer style cable... putting the 10gb on the end-plug (CS=master) and
the 110 on the second plug (CS=slave).
The 10gb boots as C:... but the 110 comes up as E:... and the DVD burner...
on the OTHER cable splits them as D:. It all works but it's highly
annoying!! Anyone have any ideas... on WHY??
Thanks in advance
Steve
