I was looking into a moniter that could serve as a computer moniter and a basic tv. I was originally looking at LCD TVs at 27" but only seem to find ideal ones at about $800 before shipping. I wanted to use this for everything I use on my computer also like gaming and web surfing. What brands or specs would be most important and what place would be best to look.

I think I found a nice one, but its $1000. Definitely a awesome buy for its specs. I just need to convince my parents (not easy to do :frown: ). I mean this thing is great, 8ms response, 1200:1 contrast, 32", for $1000.

It's something like 1396 x 768 - definitely made for 'across the room' viewing. Got some huge pixels - .51mm or something like that...

For that price get the Dell 2405, 3" smaller, but much better resolution.

From where I'm viewing it at, my eyes won't even be able to tell the difference (at least 6' away). I might stick with a 27" for around $700-$750 instead if it doesn't work out.

I'm actually going to be about 10' away, but are there any other ones that are at least 27" that could also pose as a Half Life 2 moniter? I was thinking about getting that Dell but I would be more comfortable getting a larger screen. I was going to shoot for a 32", but its hard to find ones that aren't outrageously priced that also offer good response time.

Mozz bought an LCD TV somewhere around the 30" range a few months back.

I'm sure he picked out a good one. I'll have to PM him.
