Isn't it difficult to believe that there is only ONE wireless keyboard on the market (at least as far as I know) that is backlit? That one doesn't even count as it costs more than $250! Some people buy whole computers for that money.
Surely, if all these companies which come out with zillions of peripherals were to make one cordless backlit keyboard each, they would find numerous buyers. It would be great if it was rechargeable. But I hardly see any reason for it to cost as much as, say, a low-end AV receiver. If only they cut out useless LCD displays, touch sensitive keys, all manner of joysticks, trackballs and other appendages, and lame ideas that add all sorts of functions that few people want, they would have a very popular product.
Everybody and his mom wants a wireless input device. Some serious gamers might have performance objections, but they do have plenty of wired choices. Such users as me who have integrated the computer into the other media equipment need cordless function. Even if not, any regular computer user fancies it. For casual gamers, and other night-owls, backlighting is a serious addition. There, you've got it. No reason you can't make such a product and sell it well within the three-figure mark.
Have I become senile or is there something I miss? If there is such a product I'm unaware of, someone spare me further angst and point me to it.
