Why would anyone want a matted screen on a laptop over the trubrite glossy screen?
Also, has anyone seen the Toshiba Qosmio? It is just loaded and incredible. Anyone have any ideas because I generally go Toshiba and I love this Qosmio that has the red fire on the lid part. However, it is a good 500 more than other brands with similar specs....Although the Qosmio also has 4 speakers and a woofer and all this on a laptop at 2.5 mhz dual....Is it worth the extra cost? PLease help!
Most people find that particular unit ugly (as do I).
Don't go head over heels on the sound thing. It's still a notebook, it's speakers will suck, no matter how many of them there are. You can't make a good sounding speaker small. It's not possible. Dedicated speakers will always blow them out of the water.
The extra cost is due to the fact the notebook is equipped with 3 graphics cards. They're aged cards now, I think they're 9800's. What price are you getting it for?
^ I agree about it's looks. I saw one in person at Best Buy a few months ago and wanted to puke, but then again I don't want my laptop to be flashy. And yes, it uses aged 9800M GTS cards plus an integrate 9400 (I believe).
On to the screens. The biggest complaint about TruBrite/Glassview/Glossy screens is that they tend to be very reflective and if you are in a high light environment it can be a pain to see your screen. I, however, love glossy screens. My Sager came with a Glassview WUXGA screen and I think it's amazing.
