OK guys. I'm new to this forum (as I think you can tell..!), but I've been looking for a new monitor for some time. Infact, I've been looking so hard, that I've managed to find bad reviews of each of the monitors I thought might be nice, so ended up confusing myself with issues of backlight bleed, inverse ghosting, et al.
Basically, I'm looking for an upgrade from my current Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 91. I need a monitor that will support 1600*1200+ (hence me looking at 24"/1920*1200). Ideally I'd like to be able to rotate the monitor to portrait, which only a few specs seem to mention.
I've looked at the Hyundai W24* series; they look good, offer the rotation I want, and seem to have decent spec. One bad point is they're quite pricey for a non-TN panel (£400+).
I've also had a look at the Dell 24" series, but they don't seem to offer very high specs for the price.
So in short - I have a budget of up to £350 to spend (I'll stretch to the top of this budget for the right monitor). The main use for this monitor will be for coding; then for the odd stint of gaming and movies.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm so confused right now!
Just to warn you the Hyundai w24 series looks like they are TN panels. Monitor specs from the manufacturer are mostly irrelevant, and largely misleading.

OK, I've gone and done it. I bought the Benq FP241W. Originally it was over my budget of £400 (~£460), but Aria had it on offer for £411! Couldn't leave it there for that! :-)
Cracking monitor, delivered on time. I was scared originally of having 5 or more dead pixels (that's usually my luck...). I've got none! :-D
