I know this has been discussed a lot, but I hope somebody who got deeper than me into this subject can push me a step further here.
Thanks for any input.
So, I own the 226bw and I want to buy another monitor for my dual-setup.
I got the 226bw like 5 months ago and I am unaware of which panel I have as Samsung, after all the fuss about the 3 different panels(now 4), removed any recognition for the panels from the osd and/or the back of the monitor. Therefore I never tried to calibrate my monitor due to the fact I don't know which one I have and all the discussion going on involves information and advice apllicable to specific panels. Is there anyway I can find out which panel I have?
Now, I was between the 2232bw(excellent reviews) and the 226cw(not so good reviews, over-saturated colours etc), but the reason I am leaning towards the latter still, is that it would fit perfectly next to my current 226bw.
I will be buying the monitor in the next few days, probably the 226cw, (if you think otherwise, please state so, it will help my considerations), and when I do I will spend up to a day with both monitors to try and calibrate them to the best pictures possible.
Therefore, I mainly need advice on tools and tests to carry out that would help in the process. I've been reading that the calibration kit included with the 226cw is not that good and I want to get really involved once and forever, to set up an acceptable if not near-to-perfect output from both my monitors.
Any info, advice or anything else related would be very much appreciated.
