Hi,

Just curious if anyone knew,
But will Seagate come out with a S-ATA2 HDD anytime soon?
And what about Western Digital ... Are there any changes in performance with the S-ATA and What about the noise level in the newer S-ata2, I hope it will be lower that the S-ATA of Seagate, because I couldn;t buy one because of the noise...

Cheers

Noise is mechanical, the only way you'll see a significant change in noise level is if they redesign the drive itself. I haven't seen any indications that either company plans to make significant mechanical changes to their drives.

There is a way to make drives quieter using software, but that method also lowers performance.
