Logitech G5 Accuracy Issues

So today I decided to put some batteries in my old wireless intellimouse (which I've had the batteries out of since before I plugged the new G5 in) because I was using the computer on my TV. When I went back to the G5 afterwards the accuracy of the mouse was the same as the optical one (isn't smooth, noticeable jumps of several pixels) even though the speed of the mouse is the same and I can switch between the different DPI settings. I've even tried uninstalling the optical mouse to get this to work right to no avail. What can I do to get this working correctly again?
