I'm currently looking around for a good spec for gaming, and i'm not sure what memory to use.

So far i'm thinking:

Athlon64 3200 (90nm)
ASUS A8N Sli Deluxe (nForce4)
74gb W. Digital Raptor (10krpm)
256mb PCI-e X800 XT

and for memory;
2x 512mb Corsair TwinX DDR PC3200 C2PT

I can't afford to go for the top of the range, but i don't want to sacrifice too much performance.

Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Korda.

Well...my machine runs flawlessly with that setup.

Differences include 2x512 geil 3200 ram, 6800gt, and 36gb 10k.

There are still people that load up faster then i do however (css), which blows my mind. (cable connection 3mb dl, 384 ul)=D

Current machines running F@H:
Athlons: [2000+][64 3500+][64 3000+][366][1.3x2][2500+]
Pentiums: [P4 1.4][X 3.0][P4 2.4x5]

Yuo guys could also look into Crucial Ballistix or pdp systems patriot line of memory, a lil more affordable than corsairs and better OC as well :smile:

bah, you're just jealous. All I have to say is that Crashman recommends the Ballistix, so neener neener :smile: But seriously, that seems to be the general consenus in this place, so perhaps I should correct myself and say, "Most of the folks I've heard from in hear tend to prefer pdp's patriot and crucial's ballistix line of RAM to Corsairs, citing a better price, and better OC potential."
