Camcorder is firewire only and lap top is usb only how can I get A/V transfer from one to the other?????

Firewire to USB doesn't really exist. Most of the "hubs" that have both ports don't allow crossover from one format to the other.

However, if your laptop happens to have a 32-bit CardBus Type II on it, you're in luck.
