Just installed a PSU... my first time switching one actually. Although I've switched many a other component in my short life.

Is it normal to have a faint plastic burning smell? Nothing major to where I think it's actually burning, but I think I read somewhere that it will go away in a day or two... just curious.

Yes, some components have a shelac coating that burns off when the thing gets warm.

yeah, it went away after about 3 hours. I wasn't too worried. Kinda funny that I've never changed PUS's before.
