All,

Just finished up my last lot of varnish and it's time for a rethink.

I like a matt finish to my figures, but I used to gloss first (as it's
harder wearing) andt then matt on top.

So, what are you using andis it good?

Cheers,

Mike

On soft plastic, I use undiluted white glue -- Aileen's Tacky Glue.
On metal, I use a water-based polyurethane.
Both are very tough, but glossy.
I brush on a matte sealer for matte finishes, over the above, and it
works fine. I use Aileen's Matte Finish.

Funny you should ask. I have long been a proponent of Varathane brand
of polyurethane -- the stuff is nearly indestructable.

Had trouble finding this lately and used another brand of polyurethane
on a 1/72 airplane. Damned if it didn't yellow.

I'm going right back to Varathane (which does not yellow) even if I have
to get it on E-Bay!!!!

humbrol model "cote".
This is brush on spirits based non-yellowing.
One gloss then one matte coat.
