The Thermaltake Hardcano13 fan controller/mediacard reader does not have any info on the USB pins on the units board. The internal USB connector is not keyed and will fit on the pins either way. Will I damage the unit or the mobo if I guess at which way the connector is fitted to the pins? Thermaltake has been of no help. What I need to know is what the pin designators are for the unit's board. The mobo is clearly marked. Thanx

When you look at the connector there is 1 pin missing. The diagram there shows 5 wires (you only need 4), the last grey one "shielding" is that one lone pin.
Here is a funky little diagram:
5v....ground (voltage -)
5v.....shielding

Pin 1 is positive and Pin 4 and/or 5 ground. If you have a cable with the a colored wire at one end and a black wire at the other, the colored wire is Pin1.
