I have an interest in some European DVDs that either come out of England or out of Germany, but I live in the United States. I have an extra external CD-ROM. Can I set this drive to region 2, but keep my internal drive at region 1?

Yes you can but how are you going to play a DVD on a CD player?

Right click on the any drive then properties; select the hardware - select drive - properties - then CD/DVD region.

Remember you’re only allowed to specific number of times to change the region code or it's permanent to the last settings when permission runs out.

Thank you for the reply.

The drive is a CD-ROM/DVD player. I had bought it for a computer that I bought at a yard sale that did not have a CD_ROM drive.
