When the new firmware comes out soon, should I install SP2
first or the firmware. Or does it not matter. With the
October firware upgrade I installed SP1 first and then the
firmware and then it screwed up my computer.

If you consult Murphy, he would say that it doesn't matter.
Even if you don't install either, your office is scheduled for
a meteorite impact that day.

If you are running the Broadband Networking Utility, take it out of
the startup group. You should install whatever is available first.

Seriously, if you are that concerned, wait a few days
to see if there is any problem with either. Watch newsgroups
and google things like sp2 problems. Then install one
of them, run awhile before you install the other. Make
use of restore points. Its my guess that there will be some problems
with each(probably minor) and there may be
some together, but nobody can predict if or which.
If they could, they would be involve in picking stocks,
not software.

Just use common sense, and you'll probably be ok.
However, there is no way to eliminate all risk.
