I just bought a Samsung 2232GW LCD monitor last week. It was fine the night and morning after I bought it. But in the afternoon the lower part of the screen started flickering. I thought it was nothing but it became worse- it affected half the screen after some time. So I tried some "remedies"- uninstalled the monitor's driver; updated the video card driver; rolled back the video card driver (after the update didn't work); used the analog vga out (even worse- interference); used the DVI to VGA adapter my card has (still flickers).
I tried hooking my PC to our Sony Bravia LCD into its VGA in using the VGA out then the DVI to VGA of my PC and not even a single flicker occured- so I think that my LCD is at fault here.
Please help so I can exchange it asap; I got 4 more days for the replacement guarantee of the store.
My specs:
Samsung 22 inch Syncamaster 2232GW
MSI Nvidia GeForce FX5600 VTDR (can handle the max resolution of the monitor- I researched it)
Intel Pentium 4, 2.4 GHz
512 DDR PC333 RAM
