Hey guys,

Somehow I want to record the sound of my own PC, this regards a YouTube-song and other pheripherals that I'd like to record. Can you do this without software you have to buy?

Thanks for the effort in advance.

sure you can - simply use free software to record e.g. Audacity

select "What you hear" option in audio mixer - not sure if all sound cards have it though, but it is available with my sound blaster X-Fi card anyway.

I used to use "Advanced Audio Recorder", its simple and quick loading however I have no idea why but now whenever I press the record button it says:

"Access violation at address 00000000. Read of address 00000000"

Whatever the hell that means.
