I guess I will just fill this thing out.

1_What is your budget?
I am a student, and as such, have a lower budget. 1000 CAD is my max

2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
15 inch screen would be fine.

3_What screen resolution do you want?
1280*800

4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Desktop replacement, but I wouldnt really worry too much about it..

5_How much battery life do you need?
2 hours or more.

6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
Yes. I'd like to be able to play Fallout3, Call of Duty 4, NHL 09, Company of Heroes, on medium settings.

7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing, surfing the web, playing music, watching movies, Etc.)
Web, msn, watching movies, torrents (legal in canada :)), minimal programming

8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?
250 minimum, I would be willing to buy an external harddrive if needed. 500GB would be the most I would need.

9_If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post the links to them.
I was looking at http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/ but the site does not ship to Canada. I was also looking at Factor Gaming (www.factorgaming.com) but I have heard bad things about it.

10_How long do you want to keep your laptop?
Minimum 2 years.

11_If you would like to mention some other things about purchasing your ideal laptop, post them.
I would like 4GB RAM, wireless capabilities, 2.1 or 2.4 GHz, preferably quad core processor, dual core accepted. If OS required, I would dual boot ubuntu and windows (vista or 7).

12_Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
I currently have no experience using gaming computers, and am looking to upgrade to a gaming computer for better quality and performance.

13_What country do you live in?
Canada

If you need more information, just ask.

I think you'll find this to your liking:

Though I don't know if they ship to Canada.

^I don't think Sager does, but I believe the boys over at Xotic do. They sell 3 laptops that would work decently for your purposes (Core2 CPUs and either 9600M GT's or HD 4650s). And their prices beat anything I could find on Newegg Canada.

Take a look at the Force KLHB2, Force 3310 and the Force NP2098: http://www.xoticpc.com/custom-gami [...] 1_149.html

Frozenlead, thanks for naming a brand, I will take a look at them.

Lostandwandering, thanks for giving some specifics. I have looked at them and I'm getting close to a decision. :).

I know I shouldnt have asked for help on my first post, and I will try to stay active from now on, even though I don't know much about computers.
